As important as it is to provide a fun and enjoyable environment for soccer, ICSF and BC Soccer understands that children’s safety is our highest priority. Thus, as per BC Soccer Rule 22, all team officials and volunteers with registered with ICFS must complete a Criminal Records Check.


  1. Every volunteer or employee of the BC Soccer Association, age 19 and over, who at any time could be expected in the performance of their duties to:
    1. Be with any minor aged person.
    2. Be entrusted with performing financial duties.
    3. Be responsible for book keeping or bank account(s) or any other monetary duties.
    4. Must have on file the results of a specified Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 12 months from an agency approved by the Association.
  2. Every volunteer or employee of an affiliated BC Soccer organization, age 19 and over who at any time could be expected in the performance of their duties to:
    1. Be with any minor aged person must have on filed the results of a Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 36 months from an agency approved by the Association.
    2. Be entrusted with performing financial duties must have on file the results of a Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 36 months from an agency approved by the Association.
    3. Be responsible for book keeping, bank account(s) or any monetary duties must have on file the results of a Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 36 months from an agency approved by the Association.
  3. Every Director of BC Soccer, Senior League, Youth District Association or Youth Club must have on file the results of a Criminal Record Check completed within the previous 36 months from an agency approved by the Association.
  4. The type of Criminal Record Check submitted by volunteers is to be specified by BC Soccer.

The approved agencies for Criminal Record Checks are:

  • Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) – BC Government/Ministry of Justice – which is free for volunteers
  • RCMP
  • Municipal Police Departments

ICSF provides access to doing a Criminal Records Check through CCRP (Criminal Records Review Program) or myBackcheck.com.   This online system provides an alternative to making a trip to the police station.  All members of BC Soccer can now complete a Criminal Record Check from the comfort of home and myBackCheck.com and will automatically send the results to ICSF once completed.

Once you have completed your application for coaching, managing or volunteering, the ICSF administration staff will provide you with a link to complete you’re myBackCheck.com criminal check.
